More To Mica - Life & Fashion Theme Update

A Very Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday to Papa Jesus! I got sick this years season. Two days before Christmas and still recovering. I hope my greetings isn't too late. Anyway, hope everyone is had a wonderful & bountiful eve.

Back when the days when I online shopped non-stop I would order almost everything that came in a mint green shade. The top I am wearing is one of them. There are other pieces in mint/seafoam sitting in my closet but haven't worn them because... #ootd. I do need to wear clothes I've bought in the past because tbh, it's the first time I actually wore my top & shoes (which was purchased for more than a year or so) and haven't worn them again since this photo.





I love pullovers (and I know I''m not the only one). Pullovers are just easy to style, comfy too. I am happy that I got a cropped piece too. Pulled a simple look with short shorts and Nike dunk high yoth.

Just another day to strut and take ootds. Wore this bell sleeved crop top I bought on impulse almost a year ago.. yeah that long, huhu.. lol. Paired it with a white shorts from Butternut Clothing. Crop Tops & Shorts combo like always....

A few weeks ago... I have been organizing my closet (trying to tidy it up until today). While doing so I've realised I've got quite plenty of clothes I haven't worn... and these are clothes bought 1-2 years ago. (What the heck.) I know I'm not alone and there are several girls out there with the same situation.



I used to buy most of my clothes online, and whenever I do I'd always order more than 1 piece in order to maximize the shipping fee... or I'd order more to reach the amount for free shipping. I'd even buy clothes/shoes/accessories for the sake of my #ootds.

Most of my clothes were bought online... Because of the shipping fee I'd buy more than one piece to distribute the shipping cost depending on the quantity I've bought. Some Instagram sellers would also give certain discounts if you buy wholesale, so that's either 3 or more pieces of clothes. Thus, a pile of clothing.




That said I promised to change the way I shop. It's also a good thing that a huge percentage of my earnings goes to funding a small business of mine. That way, I have more reasons to walkaway from shopping. And since I have gained the ability to sew and make my own clothes I've increased the ability to stop myself from impulse buys.



And with the stories of abused sweatshop workers who are stripped of a better life just to provide our ever growing demand for clothes, I've decided to get rid of the bandwagon and shop for the clothes that I REALLY need and not for the screwed 'I-want-that-so-I'll-pretend-I-and-probably-need-it-too' old shopping ways of mine. Some would say that there won't be any big difference, but I do believe that even one, though small can still make a difference.



'Shop less, re-use & recycle more clothes' is what I will live by from now on. That said, all the pieces I'm wearing in this outfit were either used twice already or more. Also, not many of you know but I do wear glasses and this is how I am most of the day #foureyed. I just wear contact lenses whenever I'm in the mood, do a shoot or attend events.

There was a time when I was at the stage of just shopping for dresses because I believed dresses were somewhat a solution to my 'I-have-nothing-to-wear' dilemma. Well truth to be told, when I had to attend events I just grabbed on to one of the dresses I had bought at that time.

Right now, I'm on the lookout for cardigans. The one's I'm looking for are those that are loose, they kind of give a more korean fashion vibe to the outfit (on my opinion).. and it just looks way cooler when it's loose compared to the body/arm hugging cardis.



For this look.. I wore this black dress which I bought for about 700+ or more I think from one of the shops in Paseo, name of the shop is Mic's. Paired it with an abstract/ethnic print cardigan bought from Robinsons. Necklace from a bazaar seller in Nuvali. For my shoes, I wore my go-to overused black flats.




Two wardrobe staples; a cardigan & dress makes up one easy well-dressed #ootd combination. Specially if you're lazy to dress up but you still want/need to look your best. It even brought out the best of my worn-out shoes.

Pieces in white, cream and other similar shades are absolutely the first thing I would always go for when shopping, but would put them back in the rack and get the darker colors (black, navy blue) instead. You know how it is.. Kapag puti dumihin. But I've been wanting to gradually increase white/light toned clothes in my wardrobe. Despite my concern with stains, yellowing and such.. I'm in love with an all-white ensemble. Nevertheless here's a light, cream, ivory and white ootd.

The weather had been crazy this year, that day it was still extremely hot but it also seemed to rain, they sky was about to go gloomy. I was somewhat glad that it was windy but that made it difficult for an ootd. Atleast, the wind worked it's magic in some of the photos...

If you've been reading my blog you've probably seen me wearing this top (okay, let me link the post). Now here's the full look of it, shot at Evia Center Las Pinas by none other than my official photographer, the loml. Btw, the mall is still partially complete and some stores are still bound to open, but it's worth visiting and strolling around. So go na kayo!




For this look... I wore a lovely floral abstract top and paired it with an black with a hint of white asymetrical skort. For my accessories, a mini hologram chain strap for my bag and sunnies I stole from my guy.




This is one of my favourite top in my closet I super love the cut out detail on the sleeves revealing some skin and making things a bit cool for me since the fabric is not the type that's malamig sa katawan. Plus the print... it's so pretty & fab!




Another love of mine, this skort it's simply perfect in all angles. I love the white details on the bottom and the origami/geometric shape of the skirt pattern. I actually have a white one of it.



I also found a nice elegant 'monochrome-ish' ootd spot at Evia Center Las Pinas and it isn't hard to find!

Now I'll be sharing details of the outfit I wore while having 'merienda' at the beautiful place. Brands are tagged at the bottom of the post.






We've been having an intense heated up/sunny weather here and it hasn't changed as I am writing/typing... That said I wanted to wear something that's fresh and cool atleast. I went for a simple loose white shirt, moss green distressed mini shorts, tossed in a greyish taupe trench coat and white Keds sneakers. Yeah, it's hot and I decided to wear a trench coat despite the intense heat *facepalm. I don't care, I liked how it matches and gives oomph to the look plus I needed added protection against the sun so... (and if it ever gets too cold inside establishments, haha). Lucky that my trench coat wasn't that thick or else 'isa na akong basang sisiw' (I'll be drenched in my own sweat)...




Finished the look with a 'Baby Girl' labelled bucket hat, white strap gold body watch and a stone necklace given by none other than my 'bee-eff'. Contrary to other bloggers, I'm not that of a watch person... but looking at how the watch I'm wearing levelled up this look (I think? Lol) I might start wearing watches from now on.
