More To Mica - Life & Fashion Theme Update

Every woman has her beauty that she can further enhance with skincare & makeup, it's a woman's secret. There's a ton of beauty brands for us to try and to find which products work best for our skin type but there aren't as many online makeup stores for us to shop at here in the Philippines. One of which is BeautyMNL.com, a go-to beauty destination, with over 300+ brands, for all things beauty.



For someone like me who's work is home-based I don't get to go out as often. Browsing online had actually become a hobby. I'm greatly thankful for websites like BeautyMNL to keep me stocked with my beauty supplies without having to go to the mall.



After months of just browsing through their page (hoping I could one day make a purchase) I finally got the chance to try shopping at BeautyMNL. I've always wanted to shop at BeautyMNL but I was loaded with chores & pending posts so I didn't had the chance. Good thing I was contacted by Erika to try out and test the site. Now I have my reason to check it out. Lol.

SHOPPING WITH BEAUTYMNL

Personally, I like the look of the site. It's pretty straight-forward and easy to browse through. Plus they have this similar feature where you can read feedback and review from other buyers who have tried specific product you are looking to buy. I also like that they have a detailed description & how to use on the product page. All the details - product description, how-to, brand description, reviews etc., are all in one page (same with mobile) which is really nice. Sorry I'm a web & graphic designer so... I talk about the technicals.

Payment

Payments through Paypal, Credit Card via Paypal,  Bank Deposit & Online Bank Deposit (BDO, BPI, Metrobank) and Cash-On-Delivery (COD) is accepted. For more info on payment modes click here.

Credits

What are BeautyMNL credits? Credits are accumulated points which can be used as payment for your orders at BeautyMNL. Although credits will only work with Paypal transactions. Still awesome right! Shipping

About shipping. They guarantee next day shipping with Metro Manila addresses. I can't assure that since I had my package sent to Laguna. So it took a while but they mentioned it would take 5 to 7 working days for the rest of the Philippines. Ugh, the downside of not living in Metro Manila... Oh well. Hahaha.

Here's how it went. I placed my order early morning of January 11. Two days later January 13, I got an email saying my package is with the courier and is en route to the given address. My package arrived six days after order was placed. That's fine since they didn't make me wait longer than 7 days but I was 'atat' and wanted to get my goodies sooner. Haha. Also, the delivery guy called me, he was in our village already but he needed help with finding our house.

OVERALL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

I'm very happy with the websites ease of use & the shopping process. I had no problems whatsoever. The products were pack in a resealable packaging. My orders came in tact nothing was damaged. I will definitely shop again at BeautyMNL for my beauty needs. I do recommend trying this go-to beauty destination out specially, if you live in the metro, if you still haven't.

Walk into my closet and you won't find as much cami tops in there. There's no reason behind, it's just that I am more inclined to pullovers and cropped tees whenever I am shopping and maybe... just maybe #braproblems. I am thankful for Tin of MC Clothing for sending this cami top. Now I think I need to stack my wardrobe with some more of these cami pieces.

Last weekend I was at Benefit Cosmetics Alabang Town Center for a brow waxing service together with my bff Inna . I would always groom my brows on my own with the help of my brow-friends, tweezer & razor. This brow wax at Benefit will be my first.




When it was my turn my curiousity made me 'kalikot' the 'book' of blings (the one I'm holding - that's how I'll call it since I forgot what it's called) placed on the dresser together with the waxing tools. It's not visible in photo, but it's a directory/selection of the blings (mini diamonds) that can be placed on your brow bone.



Here's the step by step process of how my brows were waxed.

1. My eyebrow makeup was erased to check the original shape of the brows, and reshape if needed.
2. Hot sugar wax was applied to the outer corners of my brows and pulled with a mini strip one part at a time.
3. After all the unwanted brow hairs are removed a cooling gel/liquid is applied to the brow area.
4. Eyebrows are filled in again using the Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit for that dolled up look.

Since I've been taking good care of the shape of my brows I just needed some cleaning. If you're brows isn't in shape yet like my friend (you can check below) ... you'll get your brows marked first.

*A small word of caution: Your brow area will be tomato red afterwards. Don't worry it'll be gone in a 10-15 minutes.






Inna came with me and had her brows done too. Like I've said, hers were marked and shaped first before the actual waxing process. It's her first time to get her brows shaped and plucked somehow the waxing was a bit shocking to her. Hehe. Afterwards, her brows are better shaped and cleaner. Yey!




Since we were already at Benefit we wouldn't miss out on trying their well-raved products. Benefit is known not only for it's quirky & whimsical packaging but it's amazing range of effective products.




One of the things I love about benefit is there box kits. There products are not quite on the 'affordable department' so with kits you can try more of their products for the price of 1 or 2.




You know these tints! They've been available for a very long time and now I know why beauty lovers rave about it. My swatch from left to right; Bene Tint, Cha Cha Tint & Posie Tint. I super love the Cha Cha Tint, would've taken one home but I tried my best to stop myself since I still have quite a number of lippies at home. Compared to the two other tints, the Bene one is more on the liquid-ish side and is easily absorbed on the skin, it's also almost faint on the picture. The Cha Cha & Posie has a creamier kind of matte form.
