More To Mica - Life & Fashion Theme Update

It's December!! Look I found a perfect place to visit this holiday season (for the kids or even the kid at heart). Patrick was the one to spot the place for our anniversary celeb last November. We drove to the place after our lunch at The Dining Room.




The place is usually crowded with students on a field trip but also great for families to hang out.




Cute gingerbread plates are embedded to the floor entrance of the gingerbread house.




Inside the gingerbread house is a cafe were they serve treats like this gingerbread cupcake.

Aside from the house, there's also a fish spa, nail salon, a campfire like area were you can make smores (not sure if the place is open for camping). I'm sure you'll enjoy the place!

We paid around P30 for entrance but beginning December entrance fee will be at P50 per person. Still affordable. Kids below 2ft are free. They are open by 8am and closes at 6pm (til 10pm on certain days). Check their Facebook page for schedule.

Tagaytay is definitely a destination not only for fresh air and cool weather but als for unique and yummy eats here and there just like our featured restaurant - The Dining Room at Gourmet Farms. Keep scrolling to see the tasty meals we ate. Warning! It might get you drooling.



The Dining Room welcomes you with a Santorini inspired structure. The blue globe on the entrance used to be visible but its now covered with vines and a few flowers started to blossom in it as well.




It was early November when we dined in Gourmet Farms and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The interior is simple and homey matching the Santorini theme.


Gourmet Farms famous lettuce chips with meat sauce, salsa, olives and feta cheese. As early as now I will tell you that this dish is a must try! I'd say it's something I would instantly order again when I come back to Gourmet Farms. The ingredients mix well with everything... I like it and I am currently craving for it.

Also, you can buy Gourmet Farms lettuce chips from their store.  They call it the Country Store and is located outside of the dining room closer to the road.


I've never eaten fresh & authentic mushroom soup, it had always been the powdered ones. The soup you'd buy in KFC. Anyway, the flavor was mild and well not the one I was expecting at that time but the soup tasted like it's full of nutrients and really good for the body. I'd say it'll be perfect for my breakfast for a pump of energy.


Chicken roulade stuffed with cheese and herbs topped on mashed potato. I applaud the way they setup the dish. I am a fan of mashed potatos that goes to say I enjoyed the meal. Out of all the dishes we ate Ala Kiev is the heaviest on the stomach. One thing though, it seems pricey for it's serving.


A new pizza favourite of mine. Well, it had shrimps and shrimps are my happy place. I know there are other pizza's out there with shrimp, lol. I'd say I like the overall taste of their Gourmet Pizza, I liked the parma ham.. Oh the ham! It's what gave the flavor to the pizza.




I had a mouthwatering time of my life at Gourmet Farms. Super satisfied. And no regrets since the food served were healthy. You can actually take a tour at the farm but we weren't able to do so.



Btw. We were here to celebrate our (Patrick & I) sixth anniversary together.

We all want good food, right? Over the years a plenty of food choices have surfaced along the Santa Rosa - Tagaytay Road. For people like me who just takes 15-20 minutes to get to the area, I’m happy and lucky to be near a place like Tagaytay (except during holidays/special occasions coz’ the place is now a little too crowded.. haha).

You know, there’s nothing like treating ourselves (specially if you’ve drove a long way) to scrumptious and delectable meals. And over a dozen of food selection there’s always a must-try, something like Rekados Cafe & Restaurante.

The beautiful bricked-wall & concrete flooring completes the homey & relaxing ambiance of the place.



Four dishes for two people. Most of the dishes on our table are Rekados’ recommendation/bestsellers (labelled with stars on the menu).












Btw, our server came back to remove the round silverware surrounding the “secret” dessert dish.




Need I say more? Rekados Cafe & Restaurante have it’s own charm that will truly make you fall in love not only by it’s beautiful & romantic interiors but also by it’s extra ordinary taste.

I went out with my parents, just me and them without my brothers to Tagaytay. My parents run a Photobooth service (Party Treasures) and we went there to meet-up with Towns Delight.
While on our way, we passed by The Original Buko Pie Bakeshop, i believe a lot of Pinoy's know about it, their buko pie sell like pancakes!

So, since a lot of people were buying my mom had to have her name listed. They don't allow reservations or such, you have to be willing to wait. We didn't want our effort and chance wasted, even if we just live in sort of close by. My dad was the one who spontaneously chose to eat at Farm Foodies, the new (i'm not sure if it's been there for a while, looks new to me!) restaurant just beside the buko pie shop. (Btw, I hoarded some chichapops on that store too. Ughh, I shouldn't I so love chips, if you're not familiar with the food, i'll share a pic sometime)

Farm Foodies the Filipino Kitchen, obviously offer Filipino Food. And I admit, I am not a fan of Filipino food even though I am 100% Pinay. (I'd rather eat pizza)



We only ordered three dishes. Crispy Sinigang, Pinangat na Isda and Bagnet Salad (the bagnet was my choice).

What can I say? Well, I don't think words are enough to describe how yummy and savory these were. I loved them all (take it from someone whose not into Pinoy food, but everyone has different tastes so I'm not sure with you). My parents and I were really happy with our meals. I specially enjoyed the bagnet.

Took me a while (1234134 seconds, kidding) to realize it was my water to drink. I thought it was a decoration of some sort added to my table. (Lol, Silly Me-ca! :P)

I loved not just the food but the place as well. I liked their bamboo walls and their chairs and tables. It's my kind of place.

The Verdict: I am totally going back! I do hope that when you go to
Tagaytay, you'd get a chance to eat here too. (And.... They also have an ice cream parlor downstairs)
