More To Mica - Life & Fashion Theme Update

Last weekend I was at Benefit Cosmetics Alabang Town Center for a brow waxing service together with my bff Inna . I would always groom my brows on my own with the help of my brow-friends, tweezer & razor. This brow wax at Benefit will be my first.




When it was my turn my curiousity made me 'kalikot' the 'book' of blings (the one I'm holding - that's how I'll call it since I forgot what it's called) placed on the dresser together with the waxing tools. It's not visible in photo, but it's a directory/selection of the blings (mini diamonds) that can be placed on your brow bone.



Here's the step by step process of how my brows were waxed.

1. My eyebrow makeup was erased to check the original shape of the brows, and reshape if needed.
2. Hot sugar wax was applied to the outer corners of my brows and pulled with a mini strip one part at a time.
3. After all the unwanted brow hairs are removed a cooling gel/liquid is applied to the brow area.
4. Eyebrows are filled in again using the Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit for that dolled up look.

Since I've been taking good care of the shape of my brows I just needed some cleaning. If you're brows isn't in shape yet like my friend (you can check below) ... you'll get your brows marked first.

*A small word of caution: Your brow area will be tomato red afterwards. Don't worry it'll be gone in a 10-15 minutes.






Inna came with me and had her brows done too. Like I've said, hers were marked and shaped first before the actual waxing process. It's her first time to get her brows shaped and plucked somehow the waxing was a bit shocking to her. Hehe. Afterwards, her brows are better shaped and cleaner. Yey!




Since we were already at Benefit we wouldn't miss out on trying their well-raved products. Benefit is known not only for it's quirky & whimsical packaging but it's amazing range of effective products.




One of the things I love about benefit is there box kits. There products are not quite on the 'affordable department' so with kits you can try more of their products for the price of 1 or 2.




You know these tints! They've been available for a very long time and now I know why beauty lovers rave about it. My swatch from left to right; Bene Tint, Cha Cha Tint & Posie Tint. I super love the Cha Cha Tint, would've taken one home but I tried my best to stop myself since I still have quite a number of lippies at home. Compared to the two other tints, the Bene one is more on the liquid-ish side and is easily absorbed on the skin, it's also almost faint on the picture. The Cha Cha & Posie has a creamier kind of matte form.

If you've been reading my blog you've probably seen me wearing this top (okay, let me link the post). Now here's the full look of it, shot at Evia Center Las Pinas by none other than my official photographer, the loml. Btw, the mall is still partially complete and some stores are still bound to open, but it's worth visiting and strolling around. So go na kayo!




For this look... I wore a lovely floral abstract top and paired it with an black with a hint of white asymetrical skort. For my accessories, a mini hologram chain strap for my bag and sunnies I stole from my guy.




This is one of my favourite top in my closet I super love the cut out detail on the sleeves revealing some skin and making things a bit cool for me since the fabric is not the type that's malamig sa katawan. Plus the print... it's so pretty & fab!




Another love of mine, this skort it's simply perfect in all angles. I love the white details on the bottom and the origami/geometric shape of the skirt pattern. I actually have a white one of it.



I also found a nice elegant 'monochrome-ish' ootd spot at Evia Center Las Pinas and it isn't hard to find!

Gosh. With so many things I'm juggling here and there, my posts are a bit delayed (and I don't think I'll be able to fix that anytime soon). It's still a good thing that I work from home. I'm able to save my time and money. Taking and editing pictures, writing and reposting on social media could be quite a challenge. Plus, handling your own brand doesn't make things easier. On a side note since I've mentioned about my baby brand, I'd like to shamelessly promote and request you guys to check/like/follow/buy Meekah on Instagram or Facebook.

With all these and other things that I'm doing I miss out on getting my nail polish, tweezing my eyebrows and such sometimes but what I don't ever want to miss is taking good care of my skin. Forget everything else but not the skin specially my face. Lol. Sleeping late, getting stressed and tired can take its toll on me so I make sure I put on lotion, wash my face everyday and put on a mask every now and then.

Skinlite Brightening Essence Mask - P59.75

I had tried a few face masks from other brands in different variants but this particular face mask, Brightening Essence Mask from Skinlite is probably my most used product. It's probably because whenever we go to the supermarket I would just stack them to the cart. It's also on the affordable department so 'grab-all-you-can' I go. I would choose this Brightening Essence Mask over the other masks lined up beside it because maybe, of it's packaging and I well liked it from the first time I've tried it. I've used it for quite a number of times already.

Now I'll be sharing details of the outfit I wore while having 'merienda' at the beautiful place. Brands are tagged at the bottom of the post.






We've been having an intense heated up/sunny weather here and it hasn't changed as I am writing/typing... That said I wanted to wear something that's fresh and cool atleast. I went for a simple loose white shirt, moss green distressed mini shorts, tossed in a greyish taupe trench coat and white Keds sneakers. Yeah, it's hot and I decided to wear a trench coat despite the intense heat *facepalm. I don't care, I liked how it matches and gives oomph to the look plus I needed added protection against the sun so... (and if it ever gets too cold inside establishments, haha). Lucky that my trench coat wasn't that thick or else 'isa na akong basang sisiw' (I'll be drenched in my own sweat)...




Finished the look with a 'Baby Girl' labelled bucket hat, white strap gold body watch and a stone necklace given by none other than my 'bee-eff'. Contrary to other bloggers, I'm not that of a watch person... but looking at how the watch I'm wearing levelled up this look (I think? Lol) I might start wearing watches from now on.

Got this Petit Bijou Baby Bubble trial kit from my previous Etude House loot. It so happened that it had been sitting for quite some time and only got a chance for the testing department until recently. I wanted to share this product because I just can't get enough of it and happy that I got to try the product out.





The Petit Bijou Baby Bubble Soft Body Wash - it had a very translucent liquid-ish form, it's baby powdery scent is very pleasant, I looove it . The scent is actually strong enough that I could smell it instantly even without opening the box yet. My skin felt light, soft and it had a slightly noticeable glow after shower. I have fair skin so actually sometimes I'm can't see the difference if the product helped lighten my skin or not but with Petit Bijou it seemed to have a certain kind of glow, it's minimal but visible. Plus, the scent (again) I just really love it.




With the Petit Bijou Moisture Body Lotion - it's a nice moisturiser specially if you'd like to feel and smell like a baby, haha. Though I have to give the points to the body wash when it comes to scent. Btw, I applied the lotion after shower the same day I used the body wash.

I loved both products and probably purchase again. These are obtained for free as gift from Etude House so I don't know the prices, I haven't checked but will do once I get to step out of my home (where I usually am). I'm planning to try other variants from the Petit Bijou Collection like the Allover spray or the Cotton Snow one.

It was the another Marvel movie hype and of course as a fan of Chris Evans, I couldn't miss it. I don't mind watching it at a later date (the way I usually am with movies) but this time Patrick wanted to watch it as soon as possible, which was four days after it's first day of showing (still earlier than the usual). We were supposed to take my ootds first but the both of us were hungry so we decided to fill our tummies first while we wait for our movie time.

Obviously, we picked the very tea party themed Vanilla Cupcake Bakery at Evia Center, Daang Hari. You'd think we'd get cupcakes but actually we weren't able to eat any cupcakes while we were there. The good thing is I've already tried their yummy cuppie cakes at their Makati branch. We ordered pasta and chicken instead. I got full already so I skipped the cupcake now I wish I did, Patrick isn't a fan of sugars so yeah. More photos of our food & the ohh so shabby chic interiors of Vanilla Cupcake Bakery below.





Looking at these make me regret not trying just one cupcake even more.

Well, if you knew me I'm more of the pasta kind and I don't eat rice so it's like our plates were mixed up. But I really did order the the cordon bleu because I didn't want to ruin my lipstick (Ha! Vanity at it's finest). Halfway eating our own plates we switched afterwards Hahaha. I didn't bother the rice so he ate all of what's left. He left me with two pieces of shrimp. Yey! He knows. Hahaha. I'm so happy he chose the pasta.
